Project: Warrior Wednesday and Stranger Comics Collaboration

Objective/Goal:

Partnered with Stranger Comics for the "Warrior Wednesday '' campaign, a collaborative initiative between Black Women in Costume and Stranger Comics aiming to showcase black women as warriors and promote the character Niobe. The goal was to celebrate the warrior spirit in black women through weekly Instagram showcases. .( The goal was to connect Stranger Comics to a large audience of cosplayers and comic enthusiasts  in order to bring light to their brand and increase sales of comics and graphic novels. Add collaboration with a comic book brand to BWIC’s experience in order to pave the way for more similar partnerships)

Role and Responsibilities:

Led the initiative as CEO of Black Women in Costume, facilitating collaborations, promoting Niobe, and sharing powerful imagery of black women as warriors. Engaged in discussions and planning with Stranger Comics to curate content and strategize the weekly Warrior Wednesday posts.

Collaborations:

Collaborated with Stranger Comics to initiate "Warrior Wednesday" showcases on both platforms, featuring cosplayers and individuals dressed as warriors. Engaged in cross-promotion, leveraging the strengths of both platforms to celebrate Niobe and showcase diverse warrior portrayals.

Strategies Implemented:

Implemented a weekly Instagram campaign, sharing and crediting various warrior cosplayers to encourage engagement with the Stranger Comics brand and the character Niobe. Leveraged collaborations, strategic hashtags, and engaging descriptions to drive audience interaction.

Key Deliverable:

Delivered eleven weeks of Warrior Wednesday posts on both Black Women in Costume and Stranger Comics' Instagram pages, promoting Niobe and highlighting diverse warrior cosplays. The campaign showcased powerful imagery of black women in various warrior personas.

Results and Achievements:

Achieved consistent engagement and positive feedback through the Warrior Wednesday campaign, fostering attention and appreciation for Niobe and black women in warrior roles. The engagement metrics showcased substantial likes, impressions, shares, and increased awareness within the community. (With likes as high as 6786 and engagement as high as 22.5 %).

Tools and Technologies Used:

Utilized Instagram for content sharing and engagement tracking, WeTransfer for file sharing, and regular zoom and email communication for planning and collaboration discussions. Employed strategic content curation techniques to ensure compelling and engaging posts.
