Objective/Goal: The "So You Wanna Be" video series aimed to create engaging, informative 60-90 second videos showcasing diverse characters for cosplay. The goal was to establish a library of evergreen character spotlights, offering valuable tips and guidance to aspiring cosplayers for years to come.

Role and Responsibilities: As the creator and host of the series, responsibilities included researching, scripting, shooting, editing, and publishing each video. The aim was to curate content that showcased various character cosplays, utilizing iMovie and Premiere Pro for editing.

Collaborations: The series highlighted other cosplayers, showcasing their exemplary portrayals, providing exposure, and contributing to a diverse representation within the cosplay community. This collaborative effort aimed to boost reach and engage in word-of-mouth marketing.

Strategies Implemented: Utilized a structured template script for each video segment, covering character overviews, costume and makeup tips, DIY cosplay solutions, and resources for aspiring cosplayers. Engaged the audience by immersing them in the character's world.

Key Deliverable: Delivered engaging 60-90 second videos for characters like Barbie, Betty Boop, and Bob's Burgers, providing valuable tips and insights for cosplayers to embody these characters.

Results and Achievements: Achieved high engagement rates on platforms like TikTok (48.67% engagement) and Instagram (2192 likes) for the Betty Boop spotlight video. The Bob's Burgers video garnered 915 likes, 138 saves, and 33 new follows, showcasing strong audience interest and potential for community growth.

Tools and Technologies Used: Utilized iMovie and Premiere Pro for video editing, crafting visually appealing and informative content for the audience. Employed structured scripts and engaging storytelling techniques to captivate viewers and provide valuable cosplay insights.

Results and Achievements: Successfully executed sponsored posts, gaining experience in working with sponsors, creating original content, and introducing followers to new costume-related products. Achieved attention and familiarity with the sponsored brands within the audience demographic.

Tools and Technologies Used: Utilized photo editing tools for content creation and Facebook Business Suite for scheduling and social media management. Employed FOHR for analytics, enabling tracking and analysis of post performance and audience engagement.



PARTY CITY INSTAGRAM LIVE DIY COSTUME DEMONSTRATION

Objective/Goal: Collaborated with Party City to host an engaging Instagram Live session, demonstrating easy DIY costumes using Party City products to enhance brand visibility and promote Halloween offerings.

Role and Responsibilities: Presented DIY costumes on Party City's Instagram Live channel, ensuring professional representation and compliance with FTC guidelines. Prepared promotional materials and attended pre-event orientation calls with Likeable, Party City's social agency.

Collaboration: Partnered with Party City for a Halloween social media campaign, following client guidelines and facilitating a seamless collaboration to showcase Party City's products.

Strategies Implemented: Executed a 20-minute live demonstration, adhering to Party City's guidelines, maintaining a centralized location for optimal presentation, and engaging with the audience to create an interactive and enjoyable experience.

Key Deliverable: Generated 2,213 views and received excellent feedback from Party City. The content created during the live event was granted usage rights to Party City for at least 12 months.

Results and Achievements: Achieved 3,400 views and 186 likes during the live session, receiving positive feedback from Party City for a well-executed and engaging presentation. The successful collaboration contributed to Party City's Halloween campaign.

Tools and Technologies Used: Utilized Instagram Live for the demonstration, followed Party City's recommendations for a secure internet connection, and effectively engaged with the audience.


BELTLINE COSPLAY BARBIE EVENT

Objective/Goal: Collaborated with Beltline Cosplay to organize and execute a successful Barbie cosplay photoshoot event with a focus on  self-expression through dressing up. The goal was to connect Beltline Cosplay with my large audience  of cosplayers to increase engagement, promote experiential marketing, and create a unique event experience.

Role and Responsibilities: Participated in planning efforts, including posts, flier design, and marketing language. Collaborated with Beltline Cosplay's social media team for AI Barbie renderings and cross-promotion. Promoted the event in exchange for experience and direct audience connection. Post-event, created a reel highlighting the event's success.

Collaborations: Worked closely with Beltline Cosplay's social media manager, participated in an IG chat with the admin team, and collaborated on promotional posts. 

Strategies Implemented: Utilized cross-promotion on Instagram leading up to the event, engaging with cosplay influencers, MUA professionals, and VIP cocktail hours. Implemented a collaborative post strategy, combining efforts with Beltline Cosplay's posts and individual carousel posts featuring Barbie Cosplayers.

Key Deliverable: Generated a reel showcasing the event's success, diversity in turnout, the beauty of the location, and behind-the-scenes preparations. The reel received 957 likes, 9373 plays, 9,487 accounts reached, 1,189 reel interactions, and 135 shares.

Results and Achievements: Successfully sold out Early Bird Tickets, and General Admission went live. The collaboration with @AccessAtl further extended the event's reach and recognition. The collaborative approach to promotion resulted in a successful and well-attended event, increasing Beltline cosplay engagement and connecting BWIC with blockbuster films, pop culture, live events, and experiential marketing in the eyes of the followers.

Tools and Technologies Used: Utilized Instagram for event promotion, collaboration, and sharing AI Barbie renderings. Engaged with the social media team through IG chat for planning and updates. The reel was created and posted on Instagram to showcase the event's highlights, edited using InShot, and scheduled posts with Meta Business Suite.


WARRIOR WEDNESDAY AND STRANGER COMICS COLLABORATION

Objective/Goal: Partnered with Stranger Comics for the "Warrior Wednesday'' campaign, a collaborative initiative between Black Women in Costume and Stranger Comics aiming to showcase black women as warriors and promote the character Niobe. The goal was to celebrate the warrior spirit in black women through weekly Instagram showcases. Additionally, the initiative aimed to connect Stranger Comics with a large audience of cosplayers and comic enthusiasts, bringing light to their brand and increasing sales of comics and graphic novels. This collaboration also served to add experience in partnering with a comic book brand to BWIC's portfolio, paving the way for more similar partnerships.

Role and Responsibilities: Led the initiative as CEO of Black Women in Costume, facilitating collaborations, promoting Niobe, and sharing powerful imagery of black women as warriors. Engaged in discussions and planning with Stranger Comics to curate content and strategize the weekly Warrior Wednesday posts.

Collaborations: Collaborated with Stranger Comics to initiate "Warrior Wednesday" showcases on both platforms, featuring cosplayers and individuals dressed as warriors. Engaged in cross-promotion, leveraging the strengths of both platforms to celebrate Niobe and showcase diverse warrior portrayals.

Strategies Implemented: Implemented a weekly Instagram campaign, sharing and crediting various warrior cosplayers to encourage engagement with the Stranger Comics brand and the character Niobe. Leveraged collaborations, strategic hashtags, and engaging descriptions to drive audience interaction.

Key Deliverable: Delivered eleven weeks of Warrior Wednesday posts on both Black Women in Costume and Stranger Comics' Instagram pages, promoting Niobe and highlighting diverse warrior cosplays. The campaign showcased powerful imagery of black women in various warrior personas.

Results and Achievements: Achieved consistent engagement and positive feedback through the Warrior Wednesday campaign, fostering attention and appreciation for Niobe and black women in warrior roles. The engagement metrics showcased substantial likes, impressions, shares, and increased awareness within the community (With likes as high as 6786 and engagement as high as 22.5 %).

COSPLAY MINI COURSE

Objective/Goal: The primary objective of the Cosplay Mini Course on Patreon was to establish a new revenue stream for Black Women in Costume (BWIC) while providing comprehensive guidance and structure for individuals interested in cosplay. Additionally, the aim was to demystify cosplay, offer guidance to beginners, and create a platform for seamless integration of sponsors.

Role and Responsibilities: As the course creator and instructor, I curated and structured course modules, conducted market research to identify gaps in the cosplay education market, and crafted educational scripts and videos. My responsibilities encompassed video direction, setup of shooting areas, editing, and post-production tasks. Additionally, I designed and generated AI stock images to complement the course content, creating a valuable archive for future use by BWIC.

Strategies Implemented: Through meticulous market research, I identified pertinent information essential to the cosplay audience, crafting a strategy to address the gaps and provide engaging, informative content. The course materials included videos and PDFs edited to convey educational information in an easily consumable format with a teaching tone.

Key Deliverable: The course comprised curated videos and PDFs, seamlessly amalgamated to deliver an educational yet engaging experience on Patreon. These materials provided guidance on cosplay basics, materials, techniques, competitions, conventions, and monetization avenues.

Results and Achievements: The successful launch of the course on Patreon introduced a new revenue stream for BWIC. The content delivered a structured approach to cosplay, making it accessible to beginners while also providing valuable insights for enthusiasts looking to enhance their craft.

Tools and Technologies Used: Market research techniques were employed to identify gaps in the market and relevant content for the cosplay audience. Utilized skills in scripting, video direction, setup, editing, and post-production tasks using tools such as AI-generated stock images to complement the course content and enhance educational material. Additionally, the creation of a diverse stock image archive signifies BWIC's forward-thinking approach towards technological innovation and content expansion.
